For those of us on here who remember “Cheers” on a weekly Thursday night show, we all waited for Norm’s greeting
His nephew was in law school with me in Cleveland. Looked just like him.
GW was great in classic horror/comedy, House. One of the first horror films I recall seeing at the age of five. Scared the hell out of me then. My parents definitely did not restrict what my seven siblings and I watched/read. Dad took four young kids to the theater to watch Scarface.
RIP, GW.
George Wendts sister married Butler County politician Greg Jolivette. I’m not sure of the exact year 1990 or 91 - parents weekend - George wendt was in the Millett parking lot before the parents weekend football game helping Jolivette campaign. My buddies and I shook his hand and my friends mom took a picture of us with him.
Unfortunately it was the early 90’s and she took the film home to have it developed and i never got to see the picture.
Norm is one of the all time great tv characters - RIP
Did you know about George Wendt’s Butler County connection?.
Attended Norte Dame. Went on spring break and never returned
I remember that football game George Wendt was at! He was standing by the close parking lot on the west side of Millett, on the hill going down to the stadium, by a sign that said to vote for the candidate and to “Say Hi To Norm!” And George was standing there, waving, shaking hands, responding back to “NORM!” calls. He was really cool.
Great memory, thanks for that!
