As a big Grateful Dead fan (I own original Jerry Garcia artwork), I woke to the sad news Grateful Dead original member with Garcia of Mother McCree’s Uptown Jug Champions (who became the Warlocks and then the Dead), guitarist, vocalist, songwriter Bob Weir passed away last night at age 78, of complications from lung cancer.
Bob we were grateful you were here.

For those that wonder why this is on a sports message board, Bob Weir was a huge Giants and 49ers fan.
Having Ripple on the jukebox at CJ’s still is a cherished memory. And it’s incredible remembering that factoid because most of my time at CJ’s is pretty hazy

Glad I was able to go see Dead & Co a few times the past decade. I mean, not exactly the same sans Jerry and Phil obviously, but it was still a great experience.
We saw the Dead’s last three shows in St Louis before Jerry died.
I saw Grateful Dead 5 times back in the 90s, and Jerry died in 1995.
Recently completed my concert bucket list by seeing Paul McCartney back in November.
