Rich Get Richer

Under a two-game arrangement in 2027, schools will purportedly receive $2.25 million apiece, sources said. The format for Years 2 and 3 are supposed to bump to $3.75 million per school.

Pfft who cares? Those teams didn’t even go 31-0 this season.

So, do the schools in equal distribution conferences still kick the money into the general conference media fund to be dished out to all the schools, or do we start to see cracks forming in the solidarity among schools in the SEC and B1G?

I’m hoping for cracks

What cracks are you expecting? Like pro sports leagues, the conferences prefer having bottom feeders they know and are happy with things the way they are.

My understanding is that they don’t. It’s apparently one reason why all of these are neutral site games; there’s an element of conference sharing for games broadcast from home sites. Duke isn’t in this Diamond Cup thing, but that’s because they cut their own deal with Amazon Prime for a marquee game each of the next three seasons, reportedly at $5m per game.
