refs are whistle crazy and the shots aren’t falling
And the team is up by 9. Singer having a fantastic game here
57-46 Miami under 5 timeout. Tretter, Devries and Jurjo each wtih 4 fouls. This is Singer’s game. Masterful both ends. Singer has 23 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and her usual hounding D. Showing why she was slighted on the All MAC teams. Singer is the best PG in the MAC and it isn’t even close. Miami needs to finish strong and hope our players with 4 fouls don’t foul out.
Tretter just fouls out on a horrible pass by Devries. Kent down 10 shooting FT. Makes one, the Devries travels on an easy layup. Then Kent scores. 6 point game. 46 seconds to go. Miami timeout. Box needs to tell them to keep the ball in Singer’s hands. Singer is an 87% FT shooter.
Miami wins, and moves to the semis! 65-58. Singer with 25 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds.
Cleveland runs through the RedHawks on all sides until proven otherwise.
Survive and advance
As Glenn said post game, Miami answered the bell. And he is glad Tamar Singer is on his team.
Miami will play the winner of CMU v. Ohio. I would prefer Ohio only because the MAC player of the year is on CMU and 2nd team all MAC post player as well. So two solid All MAC players. We beat CMU by 12 earlier in the year, split with OU.
Some great games going on now. Ohio and Central are in a battle and so are the Lamar Latrelle’s against the 6 million dollar man Steve F. Austin.
Next up a rematch with OU who just beat CMU 89-88. Revenge game for Miami.
The ladies did a good job of speeding up the game and getting some buckets in transition. After they worked the lead out by playing faster, the game had a different feel after the 3rd quarter, as in we were in control.
As Glenn pointed out, we missed some shots we shouldn’t have missed. And still won. Tretter, had a sub par game for her. Jurjo seemed a bit flustered and out of sorts. But Tamar Singer’s mastery of that game was a thing of beauty. As Glenn said in answer to the first question, “he is glad she is on my team”. Tamar had a subpar game against OU. A tremendous bounce back. And for those that don’t know, her family is currently in a bomb shelter.
Two games in a row that Tretter has been ineffective on offense and fouled out. Plus, our 3 point shooting has gone in the tank.
