Redhawks finish 5th at MAC indoor championships

Miami women’s track and field finished 5th at the MAC indoor championships. No individual titles for the Redhawks. EMU won the women’s team title, while Kent State won the men’s team title.

Akron niece #1 finished 5th in the 800 m. She won the 800 m outdoor MAC title last year. Akron niece #2 finished 5th in her 800 m heat and did not qualify for the final, though she was part of the Akron distance medley relay that finished 8th for the Zips (She finished 6th in the 800 m at the MAC outdoor meet last year). Bowling Green cousin did not run, which is disappointing because she had a pretty good indoor season. With a little luck all three should make the 800 m final at the MAC outdoor championship in May.

The Riprocks are a family of 800 m runners that include one state championship title, one MAC championship title, five top 6 MAC championship finishes, one top 8 Horizon League championship finish, six state meet qualifers, and eight top 6 state meet finishes, but don’t call us Bruce Springsteen.

That’s amazing! Bruce is a hero of mine so take the compliment!

Sure, but the comparison certainly isn’t a compliment for Springsteen.

He’s in great shape for his age.

Bash my son has been running track for all of his high school years and his favorite is the 800m. He isnt at a Riprock level but his team did qualify for the 4x8 relay for the indoor state meet

Does anyone know why the men didnt run in the indoor track event?

Miami hasn’t sponsored a men’s indoor track team for at least 20 years. In fact, there are now only 4 MAC schools that sponsor men’s indoor track and field. Congratulations to Redsea Jr’s 4 x 800 m relay team!! That’s awesome.

It’s a good thing, we have an indoor track around the basketball floor in Millett.
