RedHawks Around the World

A tangent on another conversation had me going down the rabbit hole of who of our past players are still playing. Here’s everyone I could find that was still playing as of end of 2024 or into the 2025 season. Definitely more than I would have thought and a few names I probably would have never thought of again.

Kenny Hayes is unbelievably still playing and has maybe more miles under his belt than anyone. He is set to play in Egypt 24-25 after playing in Saudi Arabia last season. In 2023-24, it appears he played for a Iraqi university!
He’s played in: United States, Venezuela, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Spain, Turkey, France, China, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt

Milos Jovic is still playing in his native Serbia.

Dalonte Brown plays for something called the Glass City Wranglers that play in a Canadian league but the team is from Toledo, OH? What is going on here JohnnyMac?!?

Dae Dae Grant is playing in Spain.

Nike Sibande, who didn’t finish at Miami, is off in Turkey.

Reggie Johnson who played a few years with us before finishing at Hampton is in Portugal.

While going down transfer memory lane: Marcus Weathers is in Poland while his brother Michael is in Germany.

James Beck who gave us a couple years before going to NMSU is in Uruguay.

Eric Washigton and Jalen Adaway are still plying their trade in the NBA G-League.

Harouna Abdoulaye has been playing in Africa for awhile, now playing for the defending Senegalese champs.

Recent grad Anderson Mirambeaux is enjoying the beaches down in the Dominican Republic league.

Another recent grad, Darweshi Hunter, is playing for the Belfast Stars in Ireland.

Jere Vucica is back over on the continent playing in Spain.

His wiki hasn’t been updated, but Antonio Ballard is still playing in Switzerland. Another lifer to rival Mr. Hayes above!

Jaryd Eustace went back home and is playing pro ball in Australia.

Chris Bryant who played for us for a few years is now in Indonesia.

Question: What happens to those time traveling Weathers Bros when we shut down the time portal that is Millett Hall. Honestly. They went to 106 schools. They might play for 1,000 teams in their career. It’s gonna get real, real soon.

Whoa. I know foreign service officers who have had fewer postings than Kenny Hayes – and probably fewer security issue countries, too. But hats off to him for making a career in basketball.

I would legitimately read a memoir from him. He must have a great stories.

A SW Ohio kid who only got a chance to play at Miami after grinding at Cincinnati State Community College. Grinds in the NBA D-League for years chasing the NBA dream before finally throwing in the towel jumping overseas for actual livable paychecks. He played in the big leagues in France, Spain, and Italy. He also played in South America which must be worlds different, let alone Kazakhstan, Saudi and now Egypt. What a life.

I wonder how languages Hayes speaks.
