Problems at Kent

In addition to going 0-12, Kent’s football coach is in financial trouble. He makes $500,000 annually and can’t pay a $20,000 credit card?

Portage County Complaint

He ignored the complaint and the bank is seeking a default judgment.

Kent fans wonder if this is a sign of a gambling problem.

I’ll give ya -270 he does. +300 says he doesn’t. -105 he takes a plea deal and this disappears like my parlay on Saturday

Maybe he is taking out credit card debt to fund their NIL

It shouldn’t be a gambling problem, if he bet against Kent 12 times.

They covered in Oxford!

I’ve been tracking that thread since a week before Miami played Kent. The week before, Kent sat their starting QB, didn’t put him on the injury report, but claimed he was banged up. A poster claimed to have knowledge from a player who claimed it was because Burns bet against Kent to try to recoup losses from the week before. There are some wild accusations in those 26 pages of posts, but all of it is just on the believable side of crazy.

If he did that his problem would be finding a safe house to avoid the contract wise guys in Youngstown.

Pete Thamel reporting Burns is on administrative leave.

This is the statement from Kent State

Rough day for the Flashes

My new favorite theory from that book-length KSU board thread up above is that the admin is moving on Burns now in order to free up money to make Senderoff a counteroffer and keep him away from Fordham.

I would say this turns your day around if you are a Kent fan. Burns is a bum

Must be a full plate for Mark Carney - juggling OC and Prime Ministerial duties.

Crazier things have happened in MAC sports history.

Senderoff is from New York, maybe it’s partially driven by closeness to home? Wouldn’t be surprised if he also got a pay raise if it’s the A-10.

Fordham’s a perennial doormat yet he’ll surely get more money. Quite possibly more NIL money too.

The thread from earlier in the year claiming Burns was fixing games is great to go back through. It was made by someone claiming to be a Kent football player giving reports of games being fixed to pay off bookies. Then someone posted a law suit involving Burns and his failure to pay/lack of liquidity. It’s a wild thread, but there are so few explanations for some of his actions in-season that’s it’s plausible.

This is what happens when you hire a grown man who goes by Kenni.

Kenni Burns has been fired.

Josh Cribbs is openly campaigning for the job for some reason.
