Living along the coast southwest of Camp LeJeune, we see USMC Ospreys all the time.
Osprey birds nest here. There is a huge nest off MLK Blvd. right across from ILM, Wilmington’s airport. A mom hatches her babies there every spring. We lovingly call her Wilma. The UNCW Seahawk mascot is actually an Osprey bird.
