Along these lines, I wonder if we’ll ever see any corporate sponsors go after players who skip out on bowl games. I can see companies putting stipulations in player contracts about playing in bowl games. We’re still in the infancy of professional collegiate athletics. I’m looking forward to see what litigation the future holds.
Oof, the Irish are getting rocked early in the Poonslayer Bowl.
Of course. It’s Notre Dame in a bowl game, after all.
Watching Ohio Bobbies vs Wyoming. Was looking for it on cable no luck and Googlrd it. Only on Barstool App. Loaded a nd watching on laptop. Announcers are funny and well…interesting and bit silly. Have nephew on the team and family in the stands.
You better hope Sackman is not monitoring this thread. ![]()
That Pittsburgh kicker is fucjking money!
100 yd pick 6 for the Gamecocks. Tie game.
ND wins 45-38.
Last I checked Bobcats were up 18-17 over Wyoming early in the 4th quarter…OU lacking of offense after loss of QB Rourke.
I see NC State lost to Maryland …another highly touted team that simply wasn’t the same when their star QB went down w injury…the back up was just not accurate enough…kinda like…well, you know…
As much as I want the MAC to have a good record in the bowl games, how can I possibly root for Ohio?
Go with your conscience…I dislike OU as much as the rest of you (well, maybe not as much as some!), but in terms of NCAA tourney and bowl wins, I put it aside since I figure MAC wins reflect better on everyone in the conference, including Miami.
And Bobkittens win in overtime. I guess I should be happy for the conference.
Absolutely. They had a great year and I salute them for it. But, come next year, we kick them right in the ghoulies.
After a rather underachieving regular season overall, the MAC goes 4-2 in bowl season, better record than the Sunbelt, MWC, and C-USA.
Have been watching the UT/Clemson game and it appears there’s a receiver on UT named Squirrel. Looks like the squirrel went berserk. Over 100 yards and a TD. Nice.
Also, you’re welcome!
Thankfully, that’s not his real name (and he has sane parents!). He got it as a toddler when his great-grandmother noticed him mimicking the movements of a squirrel.

And the two losses were by a total of 9 points. No blowouts!
Indeed but also a few close wins…the kind of games that always seemed to slip away at the end. When OU drilled that 46 yard FG to send the game to OT and eventual victory it unfortunately reminded me of our blocked 38 yard (iirc) FG at end of St. Pete bowl…
I was at that game. Neither team’s fans felt either good or bad about the outcome walking out of the stadium. Both groups were at best ambivalent about what had just happened. Had the kick been good, we would have been euphoric and the cow bell peeps would have been manic depressive. The blocked kick in 2016 kind of set Miami fans up for the Charlie Brown and Lucy ride we’ve been on for the past seven seasons. There have been way too many “pulled footballs at the last second.”
Nescacdad, not to rehash old (bad) memories too much, but I distinctly remember screaming at the TV (well, actually Chuck to be specific) when we made no real effort to move the ball in those last couple plays b4 the kick…did we even take a knee to lose a few more yards in the process? Can’t remember, but it was so stupid not to try to shorten up the kick. Oh well…
