Not apologizing for winning this simple tiebreaker.
What a surprise that conferences with 18ish teams aren’t able to get clear answers on the top two teams with an 8-9 game schedule and no divisions. Who could’ve seen it coming?
I’m not complaining…..it’s fun watching the barn burn!
This is genius
Wow!
Pretty shameful.
ESPN’s coverage today has done their best to minimize any interest in tonight’s match between the top 2 teams in the country (and only undefeated teams).
Why?
Because it’s not covered by ESPN.
Tide’s Simpson reverting back to form tonight.
Well, yeah, that is how it’s always worked. They want you to watch Virginia vs. Duke. Talking about IU/OSU takes away from UVA/Duke.
Promoting the Big 10 is Fox Sports’ job, not ESPN’s. It’s proprietary football in 2025.
Yep.
And, that sums up ESPN’s priorities.
It’s not college football.
It’s ![]()
Other sports have their networks showcase all the playoff games, no matter the network that actually shows each of the games.
MLB comes to mind.
I’m sure there are others.
Promote the product as a whole.
It grows the pie for all.
I mean, I understand the two games tonight air at the same time.
But, cmon, anyone watching ESPN’s coverage today knows what’s coming up tonight.
The difference is for MLB games (or any other pro league) is that the TV stations have contracts with the league, while college football TV contracts are done through conferences.
I’m not disagreeing with you, ESPN always promotes itself and its programming first and foremost. But from a business side of things, it makes sense, even if it is lame.
Agreed.
It’s lame.
And, in my mind, short-sighted for the overall good of the game.
But, that’s just a part of the bigger problem with CFB now.
No overall governance.
Isolated fiefdoms of conferences.
More like cartels formed between conferences and media networks.
Guess we’ll eventually have an ESPN Champion and a Fox Champion!?!![]()
I’m old enough to remember the split national champions between the AP and UPI polls.
Or, AFL and NFL.
Or, ABA and NBA.
Back to the future perhaps!
Quite honestly, you’re right.
I hadn’t paid quite close enough attention to the hardening silos of conferences and their respective networks.
I just watch the games.
But, I caught up today.
3-0 IU early. Both defenses look good…as expected.
And what a hit on the opening throw by Mendoza. I thought he was done!
Both teams settling in.
Slight edge to Buckeyes so far in the first half.
I don’t understand how you can celebrate that. Borderline dirty and didn’t need to be done, but yeah, go Bucks! And you wonder why the rest of the country hates the team.
Borderline dirty? Maybe. Clean? Yep. “Celebrating?” Nope.
The rest of the country hates them? Chuckle. Facts count.
