What a dynasty! 64 straight wins after Friday’s championships game.
Going for their fourth straight state championship today. I’m watching it on a Spectrum feed here in NC. Marian Local is up 67-0 over Hillsdale in the 3rd quarter with a running clock.

Now 74-0. All time state champion record is 77 points. Still 10 minutes to play. Marion Local basically has been playing their Freshman team much of this half.
“We coach our kids hard,” Goodwin said. “We yell at them. We have high expectations. The community knows it. But they also trust that we are here to take care of them.”
The lastime Marion lost a game New Bremen upset them in the regional semifinals. We knew we would win the state then, and we did. Their Senior class never lost a game. They had 33 shutouts in their career. Almost all the starters were SR’s this year, but when they put in their subs they were still pushing the score higher. These SR’s did lose a game as 8th graders to Minster, who was their only real competition this season. Minster finished #2 in the state rankings ( the schools are about 3 miles apart).They lost 21-0 and 21 to 7in the regional final. I think every other game was running clock.
Marion fell 3 points shy of breaking the State tourney scoring record, it was 60-0 at half. The record is held by Delphos St. John’s, another MAC team. Coldwater got drilled by Marion Local, their only loss. They are playing in the Division 6 finals Saturday.
It was hard to fathom that Marion Local was playing a 15-1 team that was a state finalist. The mismatch was akin to the notorious Bishop Sycamore exhibition game played a few years ago.
I think it’s the home of Moeller Brew Barn.
Those all seem to be closing.
I just read in the Dayton paper, the one by the ballpark is closing on Dec 22. It was a great place on game nights.
