Long time passes
@YellowNumber5 On an island with all the Susanās, Lindaās, Maryās and Barbās.
I had to learn how to spell Hailey and Katelyn 15 different ways when I covered girlsā HS sports in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky.
Two points in 27 games over 2 years? With the CHL studs they have coming in next year BUGS aināt takinā him. And it looks like they ended up with the more talented brother, too.
It would behoove all of us to recognize and accept where the upper end of the CCHA will be in the next 18-24 months. This CHL thing is a big disrupter and the top end of the CCHA is loading up with real talent that wasnāt available to them previously. BUGS, Bemidji, Michigan Tech are leading all of college hockey in CHL recruits (Omaha is up there too) and we just saw Minnesota State make Westernās high powered NCHC offense look pretty pedestrian. The gap is closing.
Edit: That doesnāt mean I want to leave the NCHC.

Agree with almost everything but I think Bajzer was better than 0-2-2 in 26 games. If I was BUGS Iād be happy to have him on the fourth line.
I have very, very mixed feelings about the CHL taking over college hockey. I love anything that makes the level of play better but hate seeing American kids squeezed out of jobs. In a perfect world, Iād like to see an import cap but the NCAA will never do that.
I started a portal tracker:
BUGS, like the other three MAC hockey schools, will likely opt in. They arenāt giving one of their 26 roster spots to a fourth line portal transfer.
I fear many of these guys may find themselves out of DI hockey (see your point about CHL guys taking roster spots).

Demsey and forssander apparently are in the portal
Beat me to it. My refresh button finger is getting sore.
Is anyone staying? Might be easier to just name them.
Who would want to? Better to hit rock bottom and hit reset. Next year is gonna be a very important year, in some ways perhaps the most important for this new regime. They have to win. Maybe not the whole thing (duh) but at least 8 games. And they have to play a hell of a lot more competitive when they lose I absolutely think they can and will.
Any former tri city guys enter the portal?
Missed this when it came out a week and a half ago, but The Miami Student did a quality piece on Miamiās radio team, Greg Waddell and Drew Davis.
Iāve known Greg since he was doing PxP for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks in the late 1990s and I was cutting my teeth covering hockey for The Cincinnati Post (that was a newspaper, for those under the age of 30), and youāll never meet a better person.
Jeff Middleton is one of the few solid writers at the Student.
I wonder what happened to Dave Allen.
Heās actually a dealer at Jack Casino in downtown Cincinnati. Heās had a couple of health problems in recent years but he seems to be doing OK now.
I run into him at the Meijer in east suburban Milford on occasion and follow him on DeFacebook.
Good old Milfordā¦we did all our grocery shopping there when I was a kid growing up. Sadly, Frischās is gone now. Skyline Chili took over the Burger Chef building where I slaved away on the night shift two summers.
Old Milford is booming now. Tons of cool restaurants and shops. Just went there for dinner on Saturday.
And itās a DORA, which I believe stands for Drunks Outside Reeking of Alcohol. Kind of what the entire town of Oxford is but on a smaller scale.
Some, half of them only played a handful of games there though
Samo Meritahti
Kyler Kovich
Nate Benoit
David Sacco
Mario Gasparini
Max Smolinski
John Lundy
Chase Clark
Kyle Aucoin
The last two were nhl draft picks
Canāt say any of them really stand out
Biggest needs are defense and goaltending. Kyle Aucoin (NHL veteran Adrian Aucoinās son) could definitely help on the blue line, and Chase Clark is a Washington draftee goalie.
Max Smolinski is Bryan Smolinskiās son. Pretty good forward.
