This is a big deal:
The specialness of the USHL was that it was a Tier I league that allowed players to retain scholarship options. With CHL players now allowed to play in the NCAA, the USHL was facing irrelevance.
We (the U.S.) need a top-tier development program, and USA Hockey and NHL needed to get behind it. Financials not discussed, but Iâd bet money that subsidies are a part of this.

If Muskegon wins its best-of-3 this week, the Jacks play Youngstown, so Iâm going to try to get to a game to scout Shika and Deputy.
The biggest two questions remaining are who the other two goalies will be and if Morozov is coming this fall or next.
