Tennessee is so good, ridiculous that they’re a 6-seed. Even more ridiculous that we drew them. Could’ve hung with any of the other 6 seeds.

Tennessee is a case of the metrics working the other way on them. They’re now 11th in Kenpom.
They had their best 3-game stretch in effective field goal percentage. They won despite Gillespie coming back down to earth shooting wise from 3 and all of his turnovers.
One big difference is how well their big guys are passing the ball, especially all of the high-low alley oops they’ve thrown. They’ve really played well. And Ament has impressed, gutting it out with his injury and contributing at both ends.
This can’t be understated. A lot of other lottery picks in his position would have packed it in for the season already. He’s clearly still hurt. I have a lot of respect for him.

I’ve watched Michigan a fair amount this year, but man I’ve never seen this gear against this much size. They are incredible.

I hate that mid-majors didn’t do well again, but despite some blowouts there have been some terrific games this tournament.

I would argue the good mid-majors 12 seed and better actually did ok.
St Louis won the 9 vs 8 game
VCU won 6 vs 11
Utah State won 9 vs 8 game
South Florida was competitive in 6-11
Santa Clara lost a heartbreaker
We won the 11 vs 11
High Point 12 vs 5
Akron not great
St Marys not great
