Agree. These kinds of issues make it appear university Presidents and BOTs have completely lost control of the athletics programs affiliated with their institutions. .

I believe UF’s athletic department is legally separate from the university to begin with, which surely causes its own whole list of issues.

Yup. Penn State’s BOT just approved $700 million in Beaver Stadium upgrades. At the same time while cutting from the academic side. The kart has definately broken loose.

I am quite skeptical that state and private universities will be able to completely decouple themselves from the athletics programs that bear their names, operate on their campuses and provide them with significant revenue.

Prob hundreds of these issues (albeit prob lower Amts). Collectives are generally run by fan boys with no athletic, development or financial experience. Should have been more closely aligned / housed within universities. It’s coming but too late for many.
