Grad transfer from Illinois. Was All Horizon with Youngstown St as a freshman, transferred to Illinois and had two solid seasons there, missed all of 2022 with injury, and was shaky on return in 2023. To compete beyond the MAC next season, they’ll probably need her to refind her pre-injury performance and have one of the other three pitchers step up as a serviceable #2.

Rumor up in in the northwest corner of the state is that Ashley Hitchcock a pitcher from Eastwood High and Rutgers U is going to sign as a grad transfer with Miami.

If you count talking to her mother as a friend told me at breakfast this morning, this is more than a rumor. Friend said Ashley’s mom said daughter signed with Miami two weeks ago.

The 2024 Softball roster is already posted. Ashley’s name is on it, as well as the transfer from Illinois and a transfer utility player from Ole Miss, a grad student.
