Yes, I’ve noticed that you and a few others already have your scapegoats lined up should the BOT vote down the arena. Should the BOT vote down a new arena (and for the record I’m not opposed to a new arena given the deferred maintenance/renovation costs for Millett) it won’t be due to opposition from a few “egg-headed professors” and “clueless students”. They’re just an easy target for the intellectual lazy. Failure of the BOT to approve a new arena will most likely be due to finances.
If all 2 million of us Miami fans each donate $100, we will only be $80 million short.

Eh….not really…cadet command is more concerned about training and commissioning. Universities sign a MOU as far as space goes. At IUP, we had our own building. At George Mason, we were in the Rec Center. Miami’s program probably deserves something better than the basement of millett

Anyone want to place bets on if anyone will be chaining themselves to Cook Field to stop construction? Might be fun to see. I’m wagering 2.5 people will chain themselves to something to stop it once it begins.

I was told last weekend by a key athletic dept person who would know - the capacity for the new arena is presently designed to be about 6500-6800 - they are very certain that it won’t exceed 7k as they finalize the design.

And part of the bachelor hall renovation eliminated “green space” as the open of the middle outdoor plaza was closed in for more building capacity.
