Nerves of Steele + pic of Steele pushing the speaker. PRINT THE SHIRTS

Indeed.

Actions speak(er) louder than words.

Hopefully he doesn’t get gotlieb-ed by the MAC

Even the MAC couldn’t be that stupid.

STFU Doug

This was the same ref that gave Doug the tech that led to his rant and suspension.

Just being honest, if Senderoff came to Millett and did the same thing - I’d certainly think the MAC could/should suspend him. There’s a big difference between competitive fire and acting like the child of Mick Cronin and Bobby Hurley. Poise under pressure isn’t just for the 18-23 year olds on the team.

This was inexcusable. In a game where we were struggling to score without our backup/starting point guard, every point is precious and something like that can’t happen. Keep your poise, just like our players are doing.

I love you and your hoops acumen. You know this. But you missed a key detail here.

What you are missing is that this wasn’t accidental. Travis knew he would fire his team up. There is nothing wasteful about how he operates. He is stingy AF about turnovers and the like. Every press conference he talks about it. So…Of course he knew the consequences. Then, why did he do it? Because he had to. And I also think he knew we would win.
We needed him to get into the required atomic gear he unleashed at half to help us find the win. We played shitty. We will play better.

Yellow - I enjoy your comments and positivity, but respectfully, I dont agree with you on this one. I don’t think it’s calculated. I think he becomes unhinged and can’t reign it back in. He should have been thrown out of the game. Western should have started the second half with 4 free throws and with us down a coach.

If after Pete’s 5th foul he’d have pointed at the ref 5 times yelling ā€œf@&$ youā€ and then thrown a band members saxophone and pointed at a police/security officer, would we be saying, ā€œman, that Pete Suder is one savvy leader!ā€

I don’t think we rallied 16 minutes of game action later because he pushed a speaker an hour earlier.

Again, I love what he’s done for the program. I love that he seems to treat the team very well. But his ā€˜fight the ref’ routine has run its course (a while ago.)

I remember another coach from Indiana with a hot temper who led his team to an undefeated season.

Pushing a speaker to the ground? Meh. Try not to do it again.

Pushing a PERSON to the ground? Suspension.

I support Steele on this one. At that point in the game, he was 28.5-0 and deserves the benefit of the doubt. He didn’t chase down the refs, he was walking toward the locker room as he was jawboning the zebras. That is a time when the zebras need to not have rabbit ears and just ignore it. Maybe him pointing at the refs was over the line, but it’s halftime at that point and the refs should just walk away. Blowing a whistle during halftime is BS.

What he was saying was very easy to lip read. He should have been given a second technical and ejected.

Ahem……it could be a ā€œGrounded Suspensionā€

I can’t believe I beat @YellowNumber5 to this one.

Good night!

I don’t think the conference office is gonna steal his credit card

Just saw the meltdown again on SportsCenter. No such thing as bad press I guess.
