Two wrongs (NBC messing up the sync, the refs apparently applying the wrong protocol) made a right here. Would have been an absurd outcome to change the result of the game 10 days later when there’s now definitive video evidence on which clock was right.
Kinda hilarious that both teams will be unhappy with this - WMU doesn’t get the official win, UM can no longer say they won legitimately.
