NCAA ends transfer restrictions

You may recall that back in December, a federal judge temporarily put the NCAA’s transfer restrictions on hold as part of a player-led antitrust lawsuit. The US Department of Justice joined that lawsuit a bit later.

Yesterday, the NCAA and DOJ announced a final settlement of the antitrust claims. The settlement requires the NCAA to lift all restrictions on the number of times a player can transfer. It also restores one year of eligibility to anyone who was forced to sit a year for transferring from 19-20 to now.

So we could one day see a kid graduate having attended 26 different schools. This is wild.

Does anyone know if you are allowed to transfer in season?

Does this make the portal and all of the deadlines obsolete?

I guess this means that Kopp gets another year of eligibility.

And, How about getting a “degree” with 26 schools listed?

Good, that gives him an extra year to learn the offense.

That would certainly give new meaning to the phrase “well-rounded education”.

Kopp got screwed? How?

Last year he was denied immediate eligibility after his second transfer when everyone else was getting it.
