This is a neutral court game being played at FIU in Miami Florida. We play FIU on Saturday… I would consider this a great piece of scheduling. Our leading scorer Enjulina Gonzalez and her sister Ziul ( red shirting) led Miami Christian to two high school state championships. This an opportunity for family and friends to come and see Enjulina play. Plus who would not want to spend a few days in Miami during December. As long as the sisters are playing for us, I think a trip to Miami in November or December would be a great idea.
The Revolutionaries ( Colonials was no longer acceptable) play in the A-10and are 6-4, playing 9 G5 schools and one lower level team. Grad student Makayla Andrew’s averages 13.3 ppg and 5-9 Fr Gabby Reynolds averages 10.3 ppg. They have 11 girls on their roster ranging from 6 ft to 6-2. They lost at Ohio U by 12. Send them back to Foggy Bottom with another loss to a MAC school!
Miami 40. GW 23 at the end of 3. Maya Chandler having her best game of the season going 3 for 3 on threes and 6 of 7 overall. Enj may be pressing with playing in front of family/friends as she stared out 1 for 12, but did hit a buzzer beating 3 at the end of 3.
GW was 2 for 7 on threes, we did not give them many chances! They also shot 24% from the floor.
Coach Box substituted liberally all day, keeping in mind that it is less than 24 hours till we play again. Starters Tretter, DeVries, and Singer all played only 15 or 16 minutes. Maya Chandler was very good today, going 3 for 3 on threes and 7 for 9 from the floor. 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists. Amber Tretter had a nice bounce back games but was in foul trouble and only played 15 minutes but had 8 points and 9 rebounds. Enj got hot late and ended up with 19 points and 4 assists to 1 turnover. Jurjo had a productive 14 minutes with 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 assists to 1 turnover.
