MIAMI WOMEN HOST JAMES MADISON GAME THREAD!

Didn’t think I would forget the women, did you? Trust me, you are going to love this team. Happy days are here again!!

Starters:
Amber Scalia, Nuria Jurjo, Amber Tretter, Addison Baxter, Juliana LaMendola.

I don’t say this in jest; this Miami team has 2 potential MAC POY in the starting lineup. Note: no starter under 5’9". You will see plenty of 5’6" Jaya McClure at PG—former All-MAC Freshman team. Miami brings 4 players off the bench between 6’0"-6’3" including a transfer from Indiana University. Also transfers from Pitt, Xavier, and Butler.

JMU is picked to win the Sun Belt and won 26 games last year. Glenn is not shying away from big games, as this team will also play Kansas, Ohio State, and Cincinnati. So, 3 P4 teams.

And I would be remiss not mentioning Glenn Box, as he enters his 4th season as Miami HC, is 56-39 overall, .589 winning percentage, and 33-21 in MAC play, a .611 winning percentage. He came in needing a complete rebuild.

Here are Miami’s game notes:

ABOUT JAMES MADISON: James Madison went 26-9 overall a season ago, which included a Sun Belt Tournament Championship win. JMU, like Miami, competed in Morgantown, West Virginia in
the first round of the NCAA Tournament, falling to Kentucky. Bree Robinson is the top returning scorer after averaging 11.9 points in 2025-26.

Unlike the JMU men, the women have posted their game notes. As much size as Miami has, JMU has more with 8 players 6’0" or taller. These are 2 NCAA tournament teams going head to head to open the season. A true test for both.
