Have to PLAY,! Can’t sit out “ to avoid injury”?
Because of the portal, we don’t even know who our bowl game players are going to be. Portal time should be after bowl season but that’s impossible because bowl season is out of sync with almost every college’s academic calendar.
Easy fix…open the portal after spring camp. Transfers can start in the summer.
Think of these schools in the CFP players have to chose between entering and experiencing the playoff ride. Portal closes on 12/28

Flying into PHX on the 27th. We’ll take a Horse With No Name through the desert to Tucson. Staying at the Leo Kent Hotel in downtown. Section 22, Row 12, Seats 4 and 5. Hopefully we’ll have enough players left for the game.

Only have a spring portal. It would greatly cut down on transfers. It would keep kids from making snap decisions right after their season ended. I have no proof but assume that it would produce more degrees as a byproduct.
Schools want the new guys there for spring but they would adjust.

I wonder if Chuck will allow some of the portal guys to play, some schools are doing it, this might convince the players to want to play even if they are leaving

Both Washington and Arizona State are encouraging portaling guys to play.
The coaches may benefit from better odds to win, maybe even hit a contract incentive with a win. I see no way that this could be beneficial to the program and the morale of the players who are staying.
I realize we’re all consumed with portal transfer news, NIL shit, and the ultimate demise of college sports has we know it, but is anyone going to the bowl game? Or is it going to be like the Frisco Football Classic with just Red Sea, Alex, and me in attendance?

@Bash_Riprock I dearly wanted to attend this one with my traditional plus one but a family holiday conflict and $790 to $1.100 RT airfare makes it impossible. Id be more than happy to stow away on someone’s private jet for an out and back from NC on Friday and Saturday. PM me if you are aware of that option!

Or, players who think they’re leaving.( but it may not work for them all unless they go to East B F E State).
