Miami v. The Bouncing Mice Game Thread

Miami has arrived and ready to kick ass!

Miami has a lot of talent out today, so another opportunity for backups to shine. Here are those on the injury report ruled out:

9 Kenny Tracy

18 Antwon Thomas

30 Josh Ringer

46 Luke Myers

52 Nasir Washington

77 Austin Uke

No one listed as questionable.

So we are without our top 2 RBs, starting LG, starting DT. We can certainly win without them but let’s hope the injury list doesn’t grow today!

Akron has 14 listed as “out” but I don’t know a damn thing about any of them and how important they are to Akron’s rotation.

I was very worried about depth in the RB room this season. Only five on the roster. Tracy was our only real speed back with breakaway speed. Jones is a short yardage power back. Brunson has become increasingly serviceable. We haven’t seen much of Tito yet.

I look for Keith Reynolds to be involved in the running game today. No more injuries!

I was wondering along the same lines re Reynolds etc. Maybe we need to use the TE more. Also, my concern more than the actual running is without Tracy we don’t have an identifiable pass catching threat out of the backfield.

We do have lots of TE on the roster. I think Brian Shane is the only one we’ve thrown to.

And please no soft coverage by our DBs!!

Miami kicking off!

Whoa. Talk about an overhead camera.

Why do we always start games playing weak coverage

Because Chuck’s goal is to not start games giving up big plays. The more plays you make them run, the more you see. I’m not always in agreement with it, but it does let him pack the box.

As I said early in the week Finley is an experienced capable MAC QB

Let’s take advantage of these Akron penalties

3rd down issues continue

Not only was the coverage soft, but it was compounded by horrible tackling. Hope that isn’t part of Chuck’s gameplan!

It’s one thing to play soft it’s another thing playing soft at the line to gain

Held NIU to 4 of 14. Wouldn’t call that an issue.
