Kent State game notes:

14-8 Miami at the under 4 TO. Scalia starts off slow again, 1-5, but Devries has 4 and Singer has 4 rebounds

19-18 Miami after one quarter. Kent went on a 6-0 run and then a 4-0 run to end the quarter. Singer and Tretter with 5 points each, Singer leads with 5 rebounds.

28-24 Miami with 4:44 in second quarter. Singer with 9, Tretter with 7. Miami only shooting 36%. Kent shooting 47% but Miami has forced 10 turnovers to only committing 4. If Miami starts hitting open looks this lead will definitely widen . Kent not handling Miami’s pressure particularly well

38-33 Miami at the half. Kent had actually taken the lead but Miami finished on an 8-0 run. Miami shooting 34%. Tretter 11, Singer 10, Singer with 6 rebounds. Miami has 4 players with 2 fouls.

Singer dropped to the floor 52 seconds into the second half. Thankfully walked off but clearly ankle turned severely. She was a Navy officer, so she is tough. Miami can ill afford to lose her. Miami first possession without Singer turns it over

Second possession without Singer and Miami again turns it over. Singer hobbling back onto the court. She has seen enough

Miami with its second shot clock violation in two possessions. Jurjo needs to learn how to play under control, fast but under control. To many errors

43-36 Miami. Defense keeping them in this one. Miami shooting 32%. Singer, the shortest player on the floor has 9 boards. Elley has a weird looking shot but it works for her. 2-2 on threes today. Miami up 25-15 on the boards.

48-47 Miami at the end of 3 quarters. Miami had a 9 point lead which disappeared as Kent went on an 8-0 lead. Singer with 4 fouls. Jurjo and Scalia are a combined 2-14 from the field. Tretter is 2-10. Miami shooting 30% and now has 15 turnovers. This is a game Miami is trying their best to lose.

As important as Ipsaro was to the men’s team, Singer is 10x that for the women. They lose her for any length of time, the season is over.

54 all with 6:15 to play. Kent went on a 12-0 run. Singer came in and Miami took the lead 54-51. Kent then tied it. And what mowch just said is 100% correct. I will credit Elley who has given Miami some quality minutes off the bench.

Only one player on Miami’s team has more assists and turnovers. Singer 6 assists, 2 turnovers. Scalia 4 turnovers, 0 assist. Lot of shit play

Kent in the lead with a 5-0 run

Miami may win this game and a win is a win, especially on the road but this was not a good game by Miami

Kent’s coach bitches and chirps at the refs as much as BG’s coach yesterday.

If Miami wins, it will be because of the defensive pressure and rebounding, both of which were pretty good today

61-56 Miami, Box calls timeout. 2:02 to play. Huge possession here which is why Glenn called the timeout. Singer has 11 rebounds, so has a double double.

67-63 Miami win! 1-0 MAC play and 9-4 overall. Miami did what they needed to to win. Singer 16 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, only 2 turnovers. Devries 15, Tretter 14. Miami shot 30% from the field, 9/32 from three but dominated the glass, 37-31. Win is a win on the road no matter how ugly. Next up Toledo, who is currently 5-5, at Miami on Saturday

Miami also scored 19 points in 3 of the 4 quarters. Pretty consistent. The other quarter they scored 10.
