Game notes here. No changes to the starting lineup, but this is a game we should be going to our bench early and often. I will be honest, before driving past it on Saturday, I had no idea where IU East was. Turns out, when you exit off the highway, onto the Richmond exit to go to Oxford, it is right there. IU East’s campus is right next to Reid Medical in Richmond. Never paid attention to it before and after this game, likely never will again!
We should “forget” the branch campus names when marketing these. In that case we have home games against Arkansas, IU, and UNC!
Just looked at their schedule. They are 5-3. Miami is not listed on the schedule.
Twice!
It’s considered an exhibition for them,; not sure about us.
A “real” game for us. Exhibition for the NAIA team.
Driving through Richmond coming from the West?!? Take the Centerville-Abington shortcut. Its like a free roller coaster if you pretend the speed limit doesn’t exist between those towns. The most irresponsible driving of my life was done on that road in my college years.
=>I understand students are camping out in the snow tonight to make sure they get a good seat for this one.
@DevilGrad has ordered pizzas for them.
Hell yeah
We normally go that way but due to the snow, it was not cleared at all. We started that way and road conditions were beyond hazardous Saturday night.
Fun fact: Venus Williams graduated from IU East in 2015.
Interesting. Found an article from when she graduated in 2015 and as I’m reading kept thinking of all the online business schools why IU East? Turns out they have a deal with the WTA Benefits and 24 players have completed degrees through them. Nice little niche market with some publicity there.
Starting lineup…

These guys are probably better than trinity
Their school will still exist in 6 months unlike like Trinity.
13-9 Miami first break in play
They look better than Trinity
If we generate enough excitement this season to the point where kids are waiting in line more than six hours for the student section, someone local should let me know, and I will do this up to a cap of 50 pizzas. If the crowd gets really big, I’ll expect some of the rest of y’all to pitch in.
21-11 Miami but Skaljac getting sloppy with the ball.
First three or four minutes were sketchy. RedHawks seemed to settle in at about the 11 minute mark.
