On Wednesday, the 12-4 RedHawks host EMU. Miami is 4-0 in MAC play.
The Eagles are 7-7 overall and 1-3 in MAC play. Sisi Eleko leads the way in
scoring (17.8) and rebounding (9.7), while Peyton Hill (13.1 ppg.) and Fernanda Ovalle (12.8)
are also scoring in double figures. Head coach Sahar Nusseibeh was an assistant with the
RedHawks from 2019-21.
I believe Coach Nusseibeh has largely righted the ship in her third year at EMU. She was obviously a bright spot among the coaching staff prior to her departure from the Hendrix regime.
ESPN has us slotted in as a 13 seed right now, we say it a lot, but what a great job by coach Box.
Here are EMU’s game notes. Starting lineup on page 1.
19-14 Miami after one quarter. But I’m not watching as on basketball zoom with Steele.
29-27 Miami with just under 3 to go in the first half. Their size is bothering us.
Miami with a four point lead at the half.
RedHawks up by 10 heading into Q4.
55-45 Miami in the 4th quarter
Fourth quarter gets a bit chippy. Hawks close it out by 14.
5-0 in the MAC
Miami wins 69-55. Tretter and Scalia with 16 each. Singer 10 assists.
Miami 13-4 overall. 5-0 MAC play
It can’t be underestimated what a job Box has done with this program. He walked into an absolute shit show. It’s a shame more people don’t appreciate WBB.
I agree. He is a coach that will likely be winning National titles one day or be right there. Like Steele, he builds well. Duffy got a lot of credit here and nothing against her, but I think Box has accomplished more given what he started with.
It might actually be more impressive than the men’s turnaround.
Yea us!
I personally believe it is just because of the fire storm Glenn walked into, and quite frankly, he has less resources (roster money) to utilize.
Jurjo is really starting to come on. And Planella is as well. Not surprising as she was the 6th Player of the year last year in CUSA. And shout out to Tamar Singer, who had her 3rd straight game of 10 or more assists. That is also her 6th game this year to reach double digits in assists.
Miami is now 7-0 at Millett this season.
