Miami women travel to Colorado to play the B12 Buffaloes. This is Miami WBB’s 3rd power conference of the year, 4th if you include former P10 member Washington State. Coach Box has not shied away from the competition. Colorado is 7-3 on the year and have won their last two contests over College of Charleston (66-47) and Wyoming (58-46). The Buffaloes feature a balanced scoring attack, led by Logyn Greer (10.9 ppg.), Desiree Wooten (10.4 ppg.) and Kennedy Sanders (10.0). In a word, they are power conference big and deep. Miami will continue to play down Brooke Blumenfeld, the best post option off the bench. Her status for the rest of the season is unclear.
Miami currently is 7-3 after a convincing win against WKU.
Missing one other game note per say - University of Colorado just inducted Miami’s own HOFer / Women’s Bball alum, Kris Livingston, into its own Athletic Hall of Fame this past month. Congrats Kris and hope she gets the opportunity to visit with our current team and staff.
A well deserved honor. Kris devoted 28 years to the CU Athletic Department, both as a coach and administrator. Former PG, Miami HOF member and Kris’ teammate, Mary Ann Myers, was there for the ceremony.
Kris will not only meet the team, she and her wife are buying a meal for the Miami traveling party while they are in Boulder.
University of Colorado’s game notes. They have 5 players 6’3" or taller and a few other “shorter” 6 footers. We are going to need some meaningful minutes out of Emily Van Timmeren off the bench.
