MIAMI V. CINCINNATI

Great win. No quit in that team.

3rd quarter was steaming dog shit. 4th quarter was terrific. As for OT thankfully UC can’t shoot FT and Miami can.

From my seat at mid court the last 3:00 of regulation and overtime were as gritty an effort as we have had in a long time.

I love that you kept the water mark. In a day and age where people steal images and recreate them with Ai, one man stands firm on giving.credit where credit is due.

Am I going to be sued?

Not on my watch

Is your watch like a crystal ball? You can see Grumpy’s future?

No, it’s more bottle shaped and filled with sour mash.

I’m not worried. If they come after me they will fold when they find out that @Bluesman is my attorney.

Jokes aside, this was the best win we’ve had in a long time. Like at least 8 years. Am I right? Box and co. are legit. I see next year as the big year because the bench is too short, but still. Wow! Great work.

It was definitely one of the most exciting in a long time. We missed a lot of layups in the first half, had an horrendous third quarter on both ends and got down 13 in the fourth. In the fourth quarter you could see the defensive intensity pick up; we held them to 12 points in the quarter. A huge key was Amber Scalia, not shooting well and sitting on five points since the first half, hitting back to back threes in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. Tamar going 5 for 6 from the line in OT. And then the inbounds play with 2.8 seconds to send it to OT; it was drawn up for our best player and she delivered.

I have to comment on something. And that is the job Coach Box and his staff and players have done so far this year in the face of some pretty significant adversity, and I am not even talking about players lost from last year’s team to the portal. We are 6-3. We have beaten a P4 team. We probably should have beaten Purdue, another P4 team on the road. And we are doing this with the following: a starting PG whose country is at war, and being attacked from multiple fronts and whose home was almost hit by rockets and missiles, 2 Spanish players, each of whom have lost a parent during the season, and our best back up post player coming off the bench, who has suffered an injury and whose current status is unknown. And another transfer player who because of injury has so far only played in one game very sparingly. That is a lot of adversity to overcome and on top of that still be 6-3. Says a lot about the character of this team and staff.

PS: Grumpy don’t know why it says I was responding to you specifically. I am not. Just a comment in general.
