MIAMI V BALL STATE

Miami travels to BSU on Saturday to open MAC play. Usually I post Miami’s game notes to start this type of thread, but at the time of publication of this post  they were not yet up. So here are BSU’s game notes. A quick scan of the “Tale of the Tape” doesn’t paint a pretty picture for BSU in this game. Let’s hope the on court results are consistent with this. BSU is 3-8.

In the last game, BSU started the following players in a loss to Campbell, BSU’s 3rd straight loss: #2, 5, 20, 24, 34 on their roster. #1, 3, 4, 13 also saw double digit minutes. Joey Hart, #20, led them with 15 points.

Apparently the person in charge of games notes went to South Beach, and instead David Sayler hastily typed this preview up himself on the same computer that issues football tickets! No game notes, just a sad preview, wondering where his buddy game notes is. Now how are we going to find out what players are on Miami’s team!

Ball State is currently 3-8 (0-0 MAC), as the Cardinals most recently dropped to Campbell 64-69 this past Sunday. Ball State went 14-17 (7-11 MAC) last year. Head coach Michael Lewis is in his fourth season with the Cardinals. Heading into the 2025-26 season, Ball State was selected to finish eighth overall in the 2025-26 MAC Preseason Men’s Basketball Poll.

Junior guard Joey Hart (12.0/game), redshirt sophomore guard Davion Hill (11.2/game) and junior guard Armoni Zeigler (10.2/game) lead the Cardinals with double figures in scoring. Zeigler also leads the team in assists (2.5/game). Freshman forward Preston Copeland has blocked the most shots (0.8/game), and junior forward Mason Jones has recorded the most steals (1.9/game). Copeland (5.0/game), Zeigler (4.7/game) and Jones (4.7/game) have brought down the most rebounds.

Sayler got the Commodore Pet 64 up and running after salvaging some parts from his TRS-80, and the official Miami game notes are up! (Bringing humor to your dreary lives!)

My Miami freshman and I are making the 2 hour trip from the greater Butler County area to Muncie.

Will have a full report on the Worthen Arena carbonation levels.

I have to disagree. There are actually a number of beautiful brick buildings at the BSU campus. It’s not Miami by any stretch but it’s not a dump, either.

I’ve been there several times. Not awful, but definitely not spectacular. Kinda boring.

Joey Hart had a Miami offer. He played in seven games at Kentucky as a true freshman after decommiting from UCF.

We are 10.5 point favorites. Ball state is 345 in NET. We better not just win but win big

I’d trade Millett for Worthen at this stage.

I remember going to Worthen when it was new…it was the class of the MAC in those days. I ran into Red Steve once and he introduced me to MattSledge .

4 point lead not the end of the world especially for how bad we’ve played

Decent finish to the half.

Started to build the lead once the turnovers stopped. Pretty sure only 1 TO the last 8-10 min. 8pts off turnovers the only thing keeping BSU in it. Should pull away the second half after solving the defense.

There we go
