Fresh off an exhilarating win over UMass, Miami returns home for family weekend to face Zippy the Kangaroo.
Somehow Miami is 9.5 point favorite
Because “WE ARE MIAMI”! ![]()
Miami game notes. No change in depth chart, although given what we saw at the end of the game I am surprised not to see DT Donavan Davis as the backup center!
ABOUT AKRON-THEY SUCK
Akron is 1-5 on the season (0-2 MAC) and has lost four-straight heading into Saturday’s action. Brayden Roggow has thrown for 834 yards and six touchdowns this
season, while Donelius Johnson is tops on the team with 57 tackles.
Have a family event this weekend.
With a bunch of UC family members and couple former UC and one OU fb players. Oh boy won’t that be fun.
Have two tickets dead nuts on the 50–row 26 if you want them.
Also parking pass.
PM me and we can get them transferred.
From ByTheBelt MAC Power Ratings:
5. Miami RedHawks (LW: 4, down 1)
- High vote: 4 (once)
- Low vote: 6 (once)
- Average vote: 5
Miami rebounded well after getting bad news about QB David McComb during the lead-up to the UMass game, finding that “one more play” to stifle UMass’ second-half comeback, but their long-term prognosis is really not very good at this point. They’re down to a third-string quarterback, the running game has struggled and the defense has had to do a lot of heavy lifting with not a lot of support. It’s an unsustainable formula for a team which wants to win in the margins. The general vibes are really off here, but this program under Chuck Martin has shown moxie in the past to rally into November contention. Maybe they can turn their prospects around before it’s too late.
11. Akron Zips (LW: t-9, down 2)
- High vote: 11 (three)
- Low vote: 12 (twice)
- Average vote: 11.4
The Zips were on the verge of a statement win over Eastern Michigan in front of the home faithful, but a field goal miss at game’s end sunk what little hope they had on a day where special teams proved the difference. It’s too bad, because Akron otherwise played a fairly complete game– even winning the turnover battle. Can’t help but wonder what this Akron team might look like if a few plays here and there were different. They’ve looked better recently in spurts, but you are what your record says you are at some point.
What games are they watching where we are leaning on our god awful defense???

We might not score 31 points the rest of the year.
Don’t get any prediction over 20 points with this offense.
3 blocked punts returned for TD plus a Scoop kickoff return?
A little light reading before bedtime!!
Hot damn,
it’s game day! Let’s get this thread fired up! Move this baby like the RedHawk passing game!
