38-22 Miami at the half. The bad, Miami has 10 turnovers. And that will most definitely discussed in the locker room. Scalia and Zartman with 8 each. Tretter and Baxter with 7. Lopez with 6. Miami 6-13 from three. 15-27 overall shooting so 56%. Also down 15-14 on the boards. Newland for SEMO has 9 points Jones with 4. Miami cleans up the turnovers, and the refs stop bailing them out and Miami will win by 30.

I never said it was the same as Steele at Xavier, just that an assertion he had no HC college experience was incorrect. Also, must have been a decent coach at Rend Lake. They inducted Glenn into their hall of fame last year. Some good fishing in Rend Lake.
One thing Glenn is doing is resting Scalia on defense. She is not in game shape yet, something he commented on at his presser this week. So letting her work herself into shape on the offensive end. Miami has only 2 FT attempts. Miami has played 11 players so far. Curious to see if we see Blumenfeld, Jove, and McClure in the second half.
48-25 with 5:54 left in 3rd quarter. Timeout SEMO. Zartman started the scoring for Miami second half with back to back threes. Miami moving the ball a bit better on offense so far 2nd half.
Free throw attempts Miami 2 SEMO 12.

Baxter really moves her feet well on defense.
Baxter is a different type of PG than Tamar but equally effective, and a better offensive player. I have been very impressed with her. Essentially we traded Tamar to Butler for Addison Baxter!

Media timeout with 4:42 in 3rd quarter. Miami 51-25.. Zartman with 14, Tretter with 10. Tretter 7 boards. So on track for another double double for Tretter. Newland for SEMO has 11. Really the only SEMO player worth a damn. She wouldn’t even make Miami’s roster.

Little mini run by SEMO to end the 3rd quarter. 57-35 heading to the 4th quarter. Miami got sloppy last few minutes of 3rd quarter and my guess is Glenn isn’t happy about that. Miami now with 17 turnovers. SEMO has 18. Tough offensive day for Lamendola, has only 2 points on 1-5 shooting. Scalia however is getting her feet under her offensively with 12 points shooting 4-6 with 2-3 from three. Lamendola and Baxter with 5 turnovers each.
Little blues fact: Cairo, Illinois has a deep blues history home of George “Harmonica” Smith, Henry “The Mule” Townsend (who I knew well), and Estelle Yancey.
70-47 with less than 3 minutes to play. Tretter has her double double

75-52 victory! The bad-21 turnovers. The good Tretter double double with 17 and 11. Scalia leads the scoring with 18. Zartman and Baxter 14 each. Miami moves to 2-0. Has held both teams to 52.

Up next for Miami Bellarmine on Sunday at Miami. Lamendola struggled offensively today with only 4 points after 24 against JMU and Miami still wins by 23 as we had 4 players score over 14. Looking at the next 4 games, absent a hiccup, and that can happen, but hopefully won’t, Miami should be 6-0 heading into the game on 11/26 against B12 foe Cincinnati.

Gave those kids a smack down to remember!!
The game against UC is in Cancun.
In case you wondered, no, Wally Szczerbiak did NOT lead Miami to the Final Four with Rick Majerus as coach.
Glenn Box has a tradition at Miami-when the team wins-they get ice cream!
