Miami Travels to Purdue

Miami women travel to Purdue on Sunday to play the Boilermakers. The Boilermakers were destroyed last night by #20 Kentucky, 76-35. To be fair, Kentucky is the biggest team in the SEC. The average team height of the Big Blue is 6’1" 7/16. KY has 8 players 6’1" or taller. Purdue is definitely a step up in weight class for Miami even if they are 2-2. Before KY they did lose to IUPFW. They have beaten EIU and FD. An interesting side note for this game is Purdue’s best player is freshman Hila Karsh, from Rishon Liziyon, Israel (Israel’s 5th largest city, 5 miles south of Tel Aviv). So Tamar Singer, from Haifa, could be guarding a fellow countrywoman. Both played international basketball for Israel. Using Massey Computer Rankings, Purdue is ranked #95. Miami is #164. This is a game however I think Miami has a chance to win.

Purdue has 6 players who are 6’1" or taller including a 6’7" freshman. Miami has 3 players 6’1" or taller plus Blumenfeld at 6’0".

We lost to Purdue by 16 points last year at home.

It’s Purdue. They must have a big stiff clogging the paint. Sometimes a few.

So the announcers just mentioned why Jurjo has been out. I knew but couldn’t mention it. Nuria’s mother died and she has been back home in Spain.

You listen to Glenn’s press conference this morning. He is not a happy coach. The messages he is sending are not subtle. No off day today. This team will watch film and then be on the court practicing.

Miami next plays Washington State formerly of the Pac 12, and if they win that (they better win that) then they likely play LSU.
