Last summer at the 1 year delayed (due to covid) 50th reunion of the Class of 1971, I gave the presentation / speech at our banquet on Miami sports during our 4 years at Miami.
The story of Buddy Schultz’s 26 strikeouts, & making all 27 outs was one of the stories / events that I included in my presentation; particularly the point that the record will likely never be broken.
Buddy played in a summer semi-pro league in Cleveland before and while he was at Miami. Bud Middaugh was a manager in the league. Buddy played with Ken Kovac, a power hitting outfielder for Miami.
Buddy had many duels with Ken Kravec, who pitched in that league, then for good Ohio U. teams, then in MLB. Kravec pitched for the White Sox.
