It looks like we have lead weights in our shoes on defense
Elmer just blocked Goldin.
I’m suprised Wollfork doesn’t score more. Early going yet this year but he would seem to be someone we could get double points out of every night. If he and Reece get hot we have a different dimension
I am not sure what we are doing on defense. We are giving up both wide open corner 3s and wide open dunks underneath
Is that Cooper’s second or third air ball this game?
I lost count.
I guess Michigan wanted to cover
Michigan on a 62-28 run.
Michigan shooting 59.6%
This is the 3rd straight game of pretty poor defense. I have to admit I got fooled with the opener. I thought we were better but the last 3 results have been poor
He will certainly score more than with Rutgers, but he played pretty much every game the last 2 years and his high was 10 points against Princeton and Coppin State.
Put Yofan in!
Is he injured?
Byers didn’t have a bad game
I should have said, is Yofan injured?
She. Is the last time the men’s team beat a legit D1 school?
Nov 12, 2024 vs Maryland-Eastern Shore.
Potter and Kotecki w a combined 26 minutes of PT and zero rebounds between them.
Georgia tech maybe? But they were horrible that year
We showed some patience on offense in The first half and got some rhythm shots. We made some tough shots too. We played good defense and got them to turn the ball over some.
In the 2nd half, we were more impatient offensively and never got in a rhythm. We took a lot of bad shots. That combined with Michigan slowing down half a beat which helped them to turn it over less frequently, and Donaldson taking control and what I feared going in came to fruition. They got so many wide open looks in the 2nd half because we took bad shots on offense. The fast break point differential is misleading. Michigan scored quite a bit off their secondary break.
Point guard play needs to improve if we’re going to cont be in the league. We can’t have Elmer initiating the offense. Not that he can’t but that’s part of what a point guard does, take control of the tempo. When our point guards get in the lane, 6-8 feet from the hoop, it’s got to be a layup, floater, or kick out. We’re getting stuck on the baseline too often. That’s leading to turnovers and bad shots.
I liked Elmer in the 1st half. His challenge is to become more aggressive driving, which he should’ve done in the 2nd half once they crowded him on the perimeter. I like Suder getting into the paint and not forcing 3s. I thought Byers did some good things. I’m looking forward to watching an improved team next week.
