someone needs to take Sayler’s phone away. He’s jumped the shark and is heading towards cringe territory
I have a love/hate relationship with this podcast out of the Triangle, but I’m totally impressed they didn’t add (Ohio) each time they said Miami! Talking Pearl and same things others have said, compares to college football talk too, we should be in, but metrics aren’t good, but support for winning that many games

Sayler’s tweet-storm is particularly annoying because:
- He did this last year when we were left out of every post-season basketball tournament and it accomplished fuckall; and
- Sayler is notoriously silent on social media when things aren’t going well (which are the times that the Miami fanbase actually wants to hear from him).
Seriously! Doesnt he have some fundraising to do?!?!
Agreed. I worry it is getting close to becoming a distraction to the team and the program and will not help the narrative around us the next few weeks.
I STAND WITH MY DIRTBAG-LOOKING AD
=>Prolly be good of Travis Steele to make an apology.
When it happened my first thought was TS is going to be ejected and the MAC was going to levy a fine and give a one game suspension. For context, Bob Knight got a one game suspension by the B1G for throwing a chair. Knight was fined $10k for pounding his fist on a scorer’s table during an NCAA tournament game (I was at the game!). Knight was find $10k by the B1G for berating a ref (TV Ted Valentine). This all happened in an era where abusive coach behavior was more acceptable and $$$$ was not as inflated as it is now.
Lost in that Barstool clip… Portnoy was endorsing us.
All the arguments and campaigning are premature. Its just content for a sports world that needs 24 hour content now.
We’re 29-0, #19 in the nation, in line to be the 1 seed in Cleveland. If we lose one of the next 2, then lets debate if Miami needs to win in Cleveland. But until there’s a number above 0 in the L column, its all just wasted hot air.
Dare I say Dez Bryant is on Miami’s side?
He seems to have taken away the lesson that our NIT snub last year could’ve been solved by more shitposting and Star Wars quotes on Twitter. That may help for the NIT when it was clear the selection committee spent two seconds on bids, but the actual NCAA tourney requires a little more tact.
last year should have been the lesson. You are the general of Miami Athletics and behaving like a foot soldier when there is a swell of pro miami sentiment from accounts that people actually like.
Drop a top tier post and walk away.
Pearl is a notorious liar. Just note his Tennessee mess as one example with the NCAA.
This is my take… He is lying that we would finish in the lower half and reality is we would be in the top half.
It actually seems to be going over a lot better with the public than last years tweetstorm
We aren’t losing so I agree. It’s pointless.
I agree, the response has been positive. It’s not hard to position yourself as the good guy vs. Pearl and, although I’m biased, we have the winning argument.
My annoyance with the tweet storm stems more from my second point above. DS has historically cowered out of sight on social media when things having been going as well. Those were the times when he could’ve been responding to, and providing answers for, his fanbase.
No need for tweets. Our record has spoken loud and clear. Travis - call the DJ and get him a new speaker. My goodness. PR 101. Cmon.
=>And make it an upgrade for the guy’s trouble.
Throw in a box of Miami merch include Miami MAC Champion hats.
