I am not sure the practice issue is as big for the women as it is for the men.
The women can practice against men who can give them more than enough challenge to hone their games. I think they do that already.
It is not possible for men to get that challenge. The very best intramural player at Miami is no match for a varsity player.
Glenn has several young men who assist in practice. A few of good size and ability. Matter of fact some of them sit right behind Miami’s bench during home games.
I am going to stay away from these comments for obvious reasons, including I am the father of a 21 year old daughter, but women are also more prone to knee injuries then men. And the reason is physiologic. Women because of wider hips have less of a straight line from their hips down which puts more stress on the knees.
Looking ahead to next week, Purdue lost to Purdue Fort Wayne (formerly IPFW) in a thriller.
Given that result, I feel that Purdue’s women’s team should be required to be called Purdue-West Lafayette for the rest of the season.
