Miami Golf (good news!)

Charlie Nikitas had another 2nd place finish (huge improvement) on the PGA Americas tour. Patrick Flavin had a top 15. Looks like he and Patrick Flavin will be promoted. Patrick in 4th and Charlie in 8th. Top ten go to Korn Ferry tour (AAA for those of you who have no idea what I’m saying). Just a fantastic improvement for him. Patrick has been very steady. Danny Fisher needs a giant result to join them. He could pull a rabbit out of a hat. Can we get 3 on the KF tour?…

As Yellow points out, both Patrick & Charlie could/should be on the Korn Ferry tour next year. Patrick is in, and Charlie needs a solid finish in next month’s final event (the Dominican Republic Tour Championship) to join him. It would be awesome to see them both out there together! Danny Fisher doesn’t really have a chance to finish in the Top 10, but he DOES have a very good chance of finishing in the top 60 - which would get him an automatic exemption into next year’s PGA Tour Americas full schedule. THAT’S what he should be focused on. He’ll need to make the cut and play well, but it’s definitely achievable. Good luck to all 3 next month!!

If Danny won (miracle maybe but, he did have a 2nd place last year) I wonder if he would get in the top 10?…

Danny currently sits in 68th place with 220.900 points. The winner of the Tour Championship gets 600 points, so, if he won, he’d have 820.90 points at season’s end. The guy in 10th place right now has 742.288 points, the guy in 9th place has 747.664, and the guy in 8th place (Charlie Nikitas) has 868.050 points. So, he can’t catch Charlie and would need the guys in 9th & 10th place to, most likely, miss the cut. In fact, he’d need quite a few guys in the Top 20 to miss the cut! Is it possible? Sure, but HIGHLY unlikely. Given how Danny has played lately, he needs to focus on making the cut, and then finishing in the Top 25 or so. He’s only 16 points out of 60th place, so that’s VERY doable. Good luck, Danny!!

More good news… Miami commit Evan Menges was named OCC Player of the Year. Dublin Jerome hopes to repeat as state champs this year.

Unfortunately, Danny Fisher will not be playing in the Tour Championship in the DR. Only the top 60 qualify for that event.

Bummer. I hoped we’d have a trifecta.
