24 wins the floor. 28 the ceiling. I can’t argue with either. It is a fair assessment.

I will point out the author is either optimistic on Woolfolk, knows something we don’t, or simply made an editing mistake in including Woolfolk as returning. Perhaps after all the legal machinations are over, Woolfolk indeed is a RedHawk this season, but right now, that is in limbo. However, even without Woolfolk (and I hope we have him) this team has the talent to hit the floor and ceilings Vitale projects.
High Point is #4 in this article. Miami opponent this year. Floor 26. Ceiling 30. They are going to be a very good team. Not just a very good mid major, but a very good team. Like us last year, and hopefully again this year.

ESPN did correctly pick that Miami would be a team that could reach 30 wins this past season (although that projection included MAC tourney and other postseason games)

27 wins is certainly attainable, but it won’t be easy.
We should be favored in every OOC game except HPU and maybe JMU. Let’s say we lose to High Point and slip up somewhere else. That’s 8-2 non-con.
Now the MAC. We’re not going undefeated again, especially with a 22-game schedule. Can we go 18-4?
If so, that’s 26 wins, and in which case we would likely get a double bye in the MAC Tournament. If we win two in Cleveland and go dancing, that’s 28 wins.

We will not be favored against High Point or UIC. And James Madison away first game is a toss up. I think 18-4 is a good goal for MAC play. 24-26 wins is likely if healthy. If Woolfolk is eligible we will be very good. If not, I’m very concerned with the center position.

No matter what I don’t think we’ll be favored against High Point. Depending how the season goes I could see us favored against UIC (especially since it’s a true neutral site game). Point stands though.
And yeah, it would be great to have Woolfolk to give Copeland/Robbins another season of development.
