Miami Baseball 2026 Season

Every game is important

It would be quite Miami-ish to be the first team out in a sport after the frenetic fight to officially be just one of the last four teams in the tournament in another sport 2 months earlier.

Clearly Ohio State seeded the clouds as they were afraid to face us!

Tequila Tuesday can start early!

Miami has come back from a 5-0 deficit to take a 7-5 lead in the 6th inning of game 1 of the series against UMass

And UMass immediately takes the lead again in the 7th. Leaving Byers in too long

9-8 win. A hard fought victory

NIU and Kent both won (Kent with a 9th inning comeback) so the standings at the top remain the same

A 2 run walk off homer by Ryan Novak gives Miami a 10-8 win in game 2!

Kent state lose. Looks like we’ve got a 3 way tie for first

I believe in the event of a 3 way tie the seeding for the tournament finishes:

  1. NIU
  2. Miami
  3. Kent State

INSANE COMEBACK BY THE REDHAWKS

Miami entered the 9th down 7-2. They scored 6 in the 9th ending with a 3 run walk off bomb by Carson Raether to get the sweep

Miami will at least be in a tie for first entering the final weekend. NIU currently down 4 and Kent up 6.

The final series are:

Miami at Akron

Kent State at Toledo

NIU at WMU

Miami with by far the most favorable series. Go win that regular season title and take the 1 seed

They scored the 6 runs and still had only 1 out.

Just a total guess, but I’d say there’s still a chance at an at large bid, but it would probably require sweeping Akron and making the championship game of the MAC tourney.

Oh it’s certainly possible. We were in L4O entering this series. But really can only afford to lose to Kent (maybe NIU) in the tournament as their RPIs are the only ones close to us

It’s double elimination so yeah, good point that 2 losses to NIU/Kent might still get them in, but a loss to anyone else would damage their RPI too much.

Revenge for Cleveland!
