A friend who went to LSU (which also engages in these shenanigans) tells me it happens pretty frequently, and the only reason teams get away with it is that baseball doesn’t have as many people who care. If someone tried this in basketball, the outcry would make it impossible. If it happens in baseball, no one would say a peep, and the team that complained about being canceled on would be blacklisted from OOC games with power teams.
The announced attendance was 1,643. That is a huge crowd. 39% larger than the second ever largest crowd at McKee Field history and only the third time over 1,000. Wow
Tracy Smith is still taking care of his alma mater all of these years later.
Some sports just have different cultures. The White Sox once started some regular season games at 7:11 to tie in with a 7 Eleven partnership, the same sport where they basically let teams use whatever home playing dimensions they want. Stuff like that would never fly for the NFL, baseball is casual like that in some ways.
Yeah, the NFL would NEVER do anything for extra money.

Cradle unis coming to baseball
All the leagues (especially the NFL) will gladly sell their soul for money, but the shield will never give teams autonomy to deviate from their game guidelines. The MLB and baseball as a whole seem to have a much more laissez faire approach to team operations.
April 24th game with CMU pushed up to 1 pm.
Miami up 6-2 over CMU through 4 innings.
9-4 Miami top of 7th.
CMU had loaded the bases in the 8th down 9-5 with no outs and in came Austin Berggren who struck out all 3 batters he faced. Going to the bottom of the 8th up 4
Berggren picks up 3 more strikeouts on 3 more batters in the 9th and Miami wins 12-5!
Miami wins 12-5!
Winner.
Yea us! And Austin
Up to 49 in RPI. Can’t drop many (or potentially any) games before the MAC tournament if we want an at large if we fail to win the tournament
I don’t follow college baseball that much. How frequently (if ever) does MACTION get an at-large team? It seems like the combination of mid-major and northern conference would be a double whammy.
I’m unaware that it’s ever happened
