Miami at Eastern Michigan Tuesday at 6:30 on ESPN+

We beat Eastern 89-80 in Oxford in January. We had 6 guys in double digits led by Antwon Woolfolk with 21 and Peter Suder with 16. Eastern was led by Christian Henry with 25. At home Eastern owns wins over Ohio, Toledo, and Wright State. This is a huge game for Eastern as they are in a group of 5 teams fighting for the last 3 spots in the MAC tournament, in other words in he same position we have been at this stage of the season since Charlie retired. Plus week night road games are always harder on everybody.
Ball State 6-6
Western 5-7
Eastern Michigan 5-7
Central Michigan 4-8
BGSU 4-8
All time we are 53-25 and have won the last 3. In true road games we are only 5-5. Overall the Eagles are 12-13(5-7) while our RedHawks are19-6(10-2).
Eastern had a complete roster redo this offseason and start 4 transfer portal guys

Starters.
6-0 SR Transfer from Depaul Jason Terry had 38 points vs Toledo on a fantastic shooting night going 15 for 17 with 6 3’s and 8 rebounds.

6-8 SR Transfer from Depaul Dasean Nelson had 21 vs the Rockets and reached 1,000 career D1 points.

6-8 SR Tansfer from Georgetown Jalin Billingsley averages 10ppg

6-3JR Transfer Christian Henry from Panola College averages 14ppg

6-6 soph Arne Osojnk averages 7ppg and actually played for EMU last season.

I think it says something about Toledo’s defense that they gave up back to back 40 and 38 point performances. Also worth noting, the two DePaul transfers score 59 points Saturday.

Tough challenge I think. Our 3 wings owe us a great performance.

You can point me to any facts and figures about “Panola College” that you’d like, but I’m never going to believe it’s anything other than the fictional destination for one of the “Saved by the Bell” kids.

Beat EMU.

Elmer didn’t play in the 1st meeting. And we were up 20 with 14:30 left and didn’t fully put them away. They never really got back in the game, but they will take comfort that they made it closer and will feel that they only lost because we were 28/40 from the foul line. After losing 3 in a row, they beat Old Dominion, lost in overtime at Ball St. and beat Toledo, so they’re playing better and will come in with confidence.

Not to convince you, but your comment made me curious. It is a JUCO in Texas and Henry played there the last two seasons, he is originally from Chicago.

Notable alumni include a couple basketball players playing overseas, and Fabulous Flournoy, former NBA player, now asst. coach with the 76ers.

Won’t be able to watch tonight as ESPN+ doesn’t allow views from the Dominican. Will enjoy my last full day and rep the M before returning to the midwestern tundra. Can at least track the game on the app and MHT while enjoying the Caribbean’s finest Beatles cover band.

That’s Fabulous Flournoy, MBE, you silly American (he’s apparently the most decorated player in British professional basketball history)

Personally, I’m tempted to take Miami to cover the 1st half spread of -2.5. We both know Eastern’s propensity for “not covering” first halves

You can use a VPN and set it for your home server. Any server based in the US will work. Jusr sign into the espn app with your normal login after your computer/phone are connected to the VPN.

Am I enough of a sicko to subscribe to NordVPN or the like for a Miami basketball game against a meh MAC school during the last night of a trip?

I’ve certainly done more for Miami athletics (looking at you 2016 St. Pete Bowl the day before a moving to a new city without having packed a thing before going to the game).

We look completely lost. Completely.

Trais needs fired

We could use a better start here. Dial it in!

The team forgot how to play basketball

I’d say we’re watching a replay of the WMU loss (playing the Directional Michigans can be confusing).
But, in actuality, we’re trailing via different ways tonight.
Our offense doesn’t seem to even be functioning right now!

It seems like if other teams guard hard we have fewer answers on offense

Our inability to dribble is puzzling

Another road game and another delay on my sound vs video- anybody have suggestions

There were three bad possessions. Everything else ended with open shots that weren’t hit. That’s a functioning offense.
