The Miami ACHA D2 hockey team is having a great season. They beat Michigan a couple of weekends ago to win their conference and won two or three games last weekend at the Southeast Regionals in Athens, Ohio to qualify for the national championship tournament in St Louis in early March. Both Indiana and Miami qualified from the region. Miami was 2-0 vs IU in their regular season.
At LEAST 1 Miami Men’s hockey team is good…
I think our Miami Student sportswriter - Jack - plays for us.
Made a small donation last week!
RedHawks pool play schedule is:
March 11 vs Montana State
March 12 vs Keene State
March 13 vs Concordia of Wisconsin
All games are in St Louis
Maybe they should move some of these club team kids up to the varsity!
ACHA is being played at Centene. It is a great skating facility. Also near a casino! St. Louis Blues have a practice ice there. Lindenwood University plays their games at Centene.
Sounds like multiple sheets.
If you mean rinks, yes. I think Centene has 4 rinks inside, and an outdoor ice. My wife and daughter skate there. My hockey skates are retired. I played youth hockey at University of Illinois when we lived there growing up. Did the Champaign, Decatur, Danville etc circuit!
Yep. Sheets of ice.
Speaking of sheets of ice - my kiddo has torn up the Bobcats’ rink. He also has two mini Riddell football helmets on his dresser - Miami and MSU (the latter is not appreciated by his Griz mom).
He’s going to be conflicted AF on the 11th!
Congrats to the club team!
Club Hawks open National Championship tournament with 3-0 win over Montana State…they face Keene State next this afternoon.
The boys got some mad skills!
Originally thought the boys had lost to Keene State. The Red and White came back from being down 3-1 to win 7-5. Game three tomorrow vs Concordia of Wisconsin.

Even better. Trailed 5-2 with 2:48 to play. Scored 5 times on a 5 min major penalty to win 7-5.

Somewhere the 2019 Vegas Golden Knights are shuddering.
ClubHawks gave up two goals within a minute midway through the third period and lost to Concordia 7-6. They finish the round robin round 2-1and move on to the next phase. They play in the national semi-final game tomorrow against a TBD opponent.
Miami boys vs Florida Gulf Coast in National Championship Semi-Final game tonight (Thursday) at 8 CDT. Tear it up!
Update: Lindenwood vs Indiana is the other semi-final game.
Way to GO,Miami!
Can we have this team play for us against NoDak tonight?!
Congrats to this TEAM.
