MAC Women's standings 2-2-25

After Games of February 1
Ball State 10-0
Kent 8-2
Buffalo 8-2
Toledo 7-3
Miami 5-5
Western 5-5
BG 5-5
Central 4-6
Akron 3-7
Northern 3-7
Ohio 2-8
Eastern 0-10

So right now we are tied for 5th, 6th, and 7th. We do have a tiebreaker over both Western and BG as we only play them once and we already beat them. Looking ahead at our schedule I would call it favorable. We only have 2 games left against the teams ahead of us, home vs Buffalo and away vs Kent. The other 6 games we have left are vs teams 8 through 12. We also have a game at Louisiana Saturday. They are currently 9-11 (5-6) so we are having a better season than they are.

Right now I would be very unhappy if we finish any lower than 5th. Right now that would give us a quarterfinal matchup with Toledo, who we showed we are capable of beating, especially on a neutral court.

Goal is always to win the Tournament and get to the NCAA, but I would mention that the WNIT is a secondary goal and several MAC teams have had great success and elevated their programs with runs of 3 or 4 wins and one WNIT championship. The last two times we played in the WNIT, our AD David Saylor bid enough money to get us a home game in the first round. Right now we are 12 -8, but in looking at our schedule, we certainly should be able to win most of those games and get to a good enough record to get in the WNIT. So time for a big run to the end of the season.
