MAC Scrapping Divisions

The MAC is scrapping divisions. There will be four three-team “pods”. Miami’s pod of annual games is Ohio and Ball State.

I’m iffy about scrapping divisions, but if we’re gonna move away and switch to pods I think those are perfect.

Cool. Now we can crush OU twice in a season and ruin their dreams when it matters most.

At least we know we have two automatic wins every season.

I like it. Get the two best teams into a Championship game.

I like the pods as they set them. I don’t think this is good for us or the MAC as a whole. By the time we get to MACTION, most of the teams will be too far back to have a chance at the MACC. Under the two division setup, most of the teams still had a chance at making the MACC. Therefore less interest late in the season.

Is there a trophy for winning your pod?

tie break scenarios are about to go crazy

I think a perk is getting to play every team at least once in a three year cycle. No more waiting a decade to play Toledo.

There would be two for us.

Should be every team 2 out of 3 years I think. Which makes concerns about playing some schools less often not as relevant imo

Yeah it’s called the Battle of the Red brickbird rivalry trophy.

Best thing to happen to CFB is the new (hopefully) NCAA FB game

Wow, does Buffalo win the lottery with the new arrangement.

Did you watch them the last few weeks? They aren’t winning shit until they fire Linguist.
