I’M GIVING THE MAC MVP AWARD TO MIAMI’S DEFENSE. THIS DEFENSE ONE OF THE BEST IN THE MAC EVER!
Honorable mention to the special teams because they were solid too
They were more than solid, they set up short fields for 16 of our 23 points. The missed FG and flubbed block at the end weren’t ideal but the field position advantage we had was lethal.
The portal was really a net positive for the defense.
McKee made a great play on the interception, peeling away from one receiver to go to the other.
Toledo never had anything close to a short field. Their best starting field position was the 25 after the kickoff touchbacks. Quite a few times they had to go around 90 yards due to the great punting by Bevelhiemer and the great coverage.
And the poor punting by Toledo. Consistently punting under 40 yards in a weather-controlled environment was costly for them.
