2027 will be interesting because our schedule has an actual tune up game in week 1 instead of being the tune up. A long way away but curious if that will change the approach

I would hope heād learn something from the basketball season and realize if we start the season 5 or 6-0, the student support will start to show up at the games

I processed his comments about resources as: A: He knows that Miami will never compete with the P4, at least for the foreseeable future, and B: His, and Miamiās goal, is to make Miami the best resourced G5 school. All of which I agree with. I think with facilities, weāre just about there. Once a new press box is built, I think Miami is in a really good spot.

Arenāt there structural issues with building a new West Yager press box/suite tower that would jack up the price? Unless the current one is unsafe or literally unable to broadcast, itās a hard sell to shell out millions and take away from NIL for something that wonāt impact the team on the field. Itād be another story if there was high suite/club demand but that probably isnāt the case with all the other sports entertainment options in SW Ohio.

Too bad our Miami Architectural school grad āKC Redskinā no longer postsā¦he was on staff at one of the major architectural firms that specialized in designing arenas and stadiums and had some great insights on topics like thisā¦

There was a bunch of talk about Florida St and Clemson, and possibly Miami FL wanting to leave the ACC, but they would have had to wait until 2027 when the media rights contract expired, otherwise the penalty would have been gigantic. But all that talk died down after ESPN exercised an extension in the contract which paid out much higher to member schools. Thatās not to say that those schools or others wonāt still be looking to join the Big10 or SEC, but the fact that they were openly threatening it then, but have said things to the contrary now leads me to believe it is less likely, at least in the near future.
I say all of this because if those schools were to leave the ACC, then AAC schools like Tulane, South Florida, Memphis, and possibly others would be obvious targets to replace them, which would in turn open the doors to AAC recruitment for some of the MAC schools like Miami. But this seems much less likely now than it did just a short time ago when conference realignment among the big conferences was going crazy. Thatās not to say that this wonāt happen in the near future, but it certainly doesnāt appear to be the likliest scenario in the next year or two as it once did.

Today I learned that we were apparently getting David Montgomery before Iowa State snagged him. Iām really curious how much better our 2016-19 teams wouldāve been with him, all due respect to Kenny Young and Jaylon Bester.
Miamiās goal is definitely the ACC.

I know that getting power conference approval is politically ideal, but if all of these P4 carveouts derail this entire bill they need to have a hammer thrown down on all of them.
