Did I see a kid wearing a Michigan jersey drinking beer out of his shoe? Oh my … Things are strange these days
And dressed for Lambeau
Someone mentioned the DLine somewhere else. I think their play is something I haven’t seen here before. Every play they were upfield with their rush causing chaos….maybe not getting a sack, but definitely taking Finn out of rythym. Just wow
And I will have a chance to speak to the opposing OLine coach here within the next week and expect to hear the same.
I was at the game, and saw a remarkable play on the far side of the field through my binoculars.
Basically Finn attempted to run vs a Miami defender (I don’t remember his position or name). Finn tried to juke and fake him out, but our guy was like a MIRROR to Finn.
99 times out of 100, a talented QB like Finn wins that battle and eventually the defender blinks. But our guy stayed with Finn step for step and pancaked him.
Just a great play on defense.
That was,if we are referencing the same play, the O player of the year v the D player of the year. D won!
I agree. I believe that was Salopek. He mirrored Finn’s moves, then made the solo tackle, Great play from a great player!
I believe that was Salopek.
Salopec said in the press conference that was the most athletic thing he has .ever done.
It was an incredible tackle for a linebacker in the open field vs. an elusive QB. Definitely highlight reel worthy for play of the day!
If it’s the same play I’m thinking of, Salopek also helped Finn up off the ground, class act!
Will we have Matt for the bowl game??
Sure hope so!

I would say that the Hall of Legends was packed, really not room for many more people.
I’ll add that while we’ve given credit to the improvement of strength and conditioning this year, it really showed up at the end of this game. Our offensive line cracked Toledo in the 4th quarter. On the other side, what can you say about the relentless pursuit by our front 6. They dominated Toledo’s front only to be robbed of no call after no call when it came to holding. I’d watch Wouillard because he hadn’t been heard from and then I’d see him being held. And I saw that multiple times. But in that 4th quarter, you could visibly see that those guys were spent, but their pass rush didn’t suffer. They kept coming as Toledo’s offensive line wore down from the rush those guys were bringing. Finn was 9/13 for 130 in the 1st half, 9/23 for 143 in the 2nd half. He was the reason this game was close but our guys refused to back down. So a big shoutout to strength and conditioning.
Also, Silas Walters’ pass breakup on 3rd down after Dowell left the game. Huge.
Love_and_Honor, I think you were in front of us in Section 105 because I heard you make the comment about fielding the kickoff and I was chuckling in agreement.
