Is there geographic constraints on the bracket? Looking at the resumes, it seems extremely bizarre that American qualified directly for the round of 16 while we have to go through the play in round.
We dropped a conference game in a non-power conference and AU didn’t. It’s bullshit given that WE BEAT AU, but such is life.

We beat Cal 2-0 early in the year out west.
