Last Time We Beat UC and OU in the Same Year

Assuming my research is correct, the last time we beat UC and OU in the same year was 2005. Arguably these are the two biggest games in our regular season schedule each year. So it has been 18 years since we accomplished the feat we have now accomplished this year. Kudos to Chuck Martin and this year’s team for getting it done!!

Not surprising considering the last time we beat UC was '05. Satisfying season thus far.

Do we play both UC and OU in Oxford Next season?

If buffalo loses two before we play them we clinch right

No, because the second loss would be to OU, which would keep OU one game back with two games still to play.

Looking through the scenarios, it looks like there’s no way to clinch against Akron, but assuming we beat Akron, a win against Buffalo would clinch the division regardless of any other results.

What happens if Miami, Ohio, and Buffalo all finish 6-2 and 1-1 against each other? Record within the division?

Record against division opponents in rank order. Buffalo would be the only team whose second loss was intra division (BG), so Miami would take the division on the head to head with OU.

Believe it or not, it’s also technically possible for BG to force a 4 way tie at 6-2, but Miami would also take that tiebreaker.

Just keep winning. Then we don’t need to even worry about tiebreakers.

Hopefully we get Ohio on a Saturday, not a November Wednesday night.
